College and Career Portfolio

Beginning with the class of 2023, AGCS students will be required to complete a comprehensive College and Career Portfolio which will serve as a core graduation requirement.  This College and Career Portfolio will showcase her/his exploration, awareness, learning, growth, and readiness for continuing education or employment upon graduation. This is a requirement for graduation no matter a student’s enrollment date/grade with AGCS.  Part of a student’s culminating portfolio will be an experiential Work-Based Learning experience completed during their high school career. Additional information related to the College and Career Portfolio can be obtained via the School Counseling office.

High School courses completed in Middle School

AGCS recognizes a student’s commitment to rigorous courses of study throughout the academic career. Successful completion of these High School courses during a student’s middle school grade levels affords the student the opportunity to advance into higher-level courses and further study during High School.

Beginning with the Class of 2023, graduation requirements will only be fulfilled by courses completed in grades 9 through 12. Therefore, any High School course completed while in Middle School will be included on a student’s High School transcript and will contribute to the student’s cumulative GPA, however, such course will not be counted towards those credits required by Board policy for graduation.

It is highly recommended that graduating classes prior to the Class of 2023 adhere to these guidelines, however, it is not required.
