AGCS' Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS-RtII) is a comprehensive system of academic and behavioral supports for its students. Elements of the model include a rigorous, standards aligned curriculum, high quality core instruction, universal screening tools, data-based decision making, family engagement, and tiered services and supports based on individual student needs.
The MTSS model also serves as an alternate method for identifying students with learning disabilities.

The RtII Process at AGCS
Three times a year MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) tests are given - in the fall, winter, and spring. They are administered by classroom teachers in reading and math.
Classroom teachers review the MAP testing data. Students who are below 25th percentile then take the AIMSWeb grade-level benchmarks.
At AGCS, we use RtII teams to review student data. RtII team members include:
- RTII Coordinator
- Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator
- ELL Teacher
- Title 1 Teacher
- Reading Interventionist
- Classroom Teacher
- Guidance Counselor
- Behaviorist
The team reviews data and creates a plan of action which may include starting an intervention. WIN (What I Need) time placement is decided or changed if needed (State Road.) If the student begins an intervention, then he or she is progress monitored (quick assessment) weekly. The teacher can then use this information to assist students with developing needed skills in reading fluency, reading comprehension. math concepts, or math computation.
The RtII team meets on a regular basis to review student data and review student placements. Changes are made, if needed, the data collected assists in our decision making process.
