AGCS High School Sports Program

AGCS initiated our competitive sports program this past Fall with the school's first cross country team. To build upon our program, we will be offering a women’s volleyball team and a Men’s Soccer team in the Fall of 2017.  Mr. Jason McGehean will remain our Athletic Director and lead of our sports program during the 17-18 school year.

We are excited to introduce Mrs. Leona Bankoski as our new women’s volleyball coach! Mrs. Bankoski has both playing and coaching experience and is excited to build a competitive volleyball program at AGCS. Mrs. Bankoski is also a staff member at our State Road Campus. At this time, we are still interviewing for the men’s soccer coach position.

Students in grades 8-12 are welcomed to try-out for the sport of their choice. Try-outs for all three of our sports will take place in late-August. In the meantime, there will be open gyms and conditioning opportunities for athletes. If your son or daughter is interested in trying out for any of these sports, please be sure to contact Mr. McGehean at jmcgehean@agcharter.org  for more information.

In order to continue to build our sports program, and improve our athletic facility, we are looking to start a Sports Boosters Program that will partner with our PTO. Any help starting the boosters program would be greatly appreciated, so please contact Mr. McGehean if you are
interested.

Student athletes must have a sports physical on file in order to participate. Please download the Sports Physical Form, have your physician complete it, and return it to AGCS.

Thank you for your interest in the sports program! We look forward to a successful implementation.
