LITERACY DAY PARADE

Thursday, January 24th

It's time for Avon Grove Charter School’s Annual Literacy Day & Parade! We're excited to see books come to life through our Students' eyes!

One component of Literacy Day is the Parade. This year we will be using the parade to promote our National School Choice Week theme, which is Community. Our theme for the parade will be, “A Community of Readers”.

Students will dress up as their favorite storybook character, book cover, and/or author. Costumes will be created at school, but planning should take place at home. Students will need to bring in the appropriate materials for the costume to school. General art supplies (paper, crayons, scissors, paint) will be provided; however, any special materials for the costumes should be sent into school on Literacy Day, Thursday, January 24th. Literacy Day culminates with the students displaying their costume during the Annual Parade.

***Please note that due to space limitations, the parade is not open to parents or guests***
Keep an eye on social media, where we'll be sharing photos of this exciting day!
