Eligibility

You are eligible for health benefits if you are a full-time employee scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week. Coverage will begin the first day of the month after completing thirty (30) days of employment.

Medical Insurance

Avon Grove Charter School offers a range of different medical plans to meet the diverse needs of our employees.  
  • Personal Choice (PPO) gives you freedom of choice by allowing you to choose your own doctors and hospitals. You can maximize your coverage by accessing your care through Personal Choice’s large network of hospitals, doctors, and specialist, or by accessing care through preferred providers thatparticipate in the Blue Cross PPO Program.

  • Health Savings Account with a PPO plan gives you a savings product with pre-tax dollars and a Blue Cross PPO program.

  • Prescription Drug Program: You receive coverage for medically appropriate prescription drugs, including oral contraceptives, under this additional benefit with the drugs are prescribed by a licensed, practicing physician.

  • Dental Insurance: Avon Grove Charter School also offers a dental plan through MetLife.
  • Vision: The vision program is administered by Davis Vision, which offers members comprehensive benefits, including routine eye care, frames andlenses.

Paid Time Off (PTO) 

We realize that employees perform at their best when they have the flexibility they need to take time away from work.

Tuition Reimbursement 

The tuition reimbursement program is applicable to full-time employees who have been employed with AGCS for at least 6 months.

Employee Assistant Program (EAP)

The EAP is a confidential service designed to help you and your family members improve life’s quality through assessment, referral, and brief sessions. This program is paid by Avon Grove Charter School.

Retirement Options

All full-time and part-time (25 hours or more weekly) employees must participate in a retirement program. Employees are provided with an opportunity to choose between the PSERS Pension Plan and the alternate Avon Grove 403b Plan as their primary retirement plan. A percentage of their paycheck is withheld each pay period and coupled with an employer paid percentage.
