Gr 5-12 1:1 Chromebook Registration Process

Action Needed for Gr5-12 1:1 Chromebook Initiative
Posted on 08/02/2017

In order to prepare for the school's rollout of its 1:1 Initiative in Grades 5-12 and the distribution of student Chromebooks at the beginning of school there are some important steps need to be taken in order for your child(ren) to be issued their device when we return to school.

  1. )  Please visit the school’s website to gain useful information regarding the 1:1 program plan
  2. )  Review the AGCS 1:1 Program Handbook
  3. Watch the “AGCS 1:1 Chromebook Initiative Overview” video
  4. Complete the 1:1 Parent Acknowledgement Form

As previously mentioned, AGCS is very excited at the prospect and possibility of this program.  The success of the rollout at the beginning of the year will depend greatly on the early completion of the required paperwork and payment of the technology fee by parents/guardians.  Since the school is re-purposing part of its current mobile inventory, failure to have devices individually assigned to students could impact their classroom experience at the beginning of the year.

To ensure the timely completion of the above items so that the implementation of this program to support our students' learning is effective, AGCS will be “holding” the release of student’s schedules in ParentPortal until families have completed the Acknowledgement and Agreement form.

We look forward to providing AGCS students with modern learning tools and the skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century. Problem solving, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills will be enhanced and will help build a foundation for college and career readiness. It is our hope that the 1:1 initiative, paired with the strong pedagogical skills of our teachers, will provide real world, relevant experiences that will better prepare our students to compete in a technology-rich world.
